Kathak at Petalturn honours the North Indian classical tradition — tatkar footwork, chakkars and expressive abhinaya.
What Kathak Training Entails
Students progress from basic hastaks and tatkar to tarana, thumri and jugalbandi presentation, guided by classically trained gurus. Tabla-accompanied sessions and baithak performances complete the training.

Kathak FAQs
Do I need experience to join Kathak?
No. Foundation batches start from absolute basics, and coaches place you by a short trial assessment so you always train at the right level.
What should I wear and bring?
Comfortable stretchwear and clean indoor footwear (or bare feet where the style asks for it). Bring water; everything else — floors, mirrors, music — is ours.
Will I get to perform?
Yes. Performer track and above join seasonal showcases, and competitive dancers are guided into inter-branch events and external competitions.
